Report: Steph Curry shows progress with hand injury in recent workout

Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry still has an opportunity to return to the floor this season.

According to a video from The Athletic’s Anthony Slater, Curry went through a shooting workout Thursday without his left hand holding back his shooting motion. Curry is rehabbing the broken left hand injury he suffered in October. Curry had the pins taken out from the surgically repaired left hand in December.

With Curry on track in his rehab, perhaps his potential return could galvanize the young Warriors as they look to finish the season on a solid note. Curry averaged 20.3 points and 6.5 assists in four games before he suffered the hand injury.

At 9-30 the Warriors have the second-worst record in the league behind the Atlanta Hawks and are primed to have a lottery pick in this year’s draft.

With their current record, the Warriors are on pace to miss the playoffs for the first time since the 2012 postseason.

According to Drew Shiller of NBC Sports Bay Area, coach Steve Kerr said Curry has an “excellent chance” to return to the floor in March. From March 1 to the end of the regular season in the middle of April, the Warriors have 22 games.
